Lab Usage

  2. University computing facilities are provided solely for the Multimedia University’s educational, research and administrative activities unless otherwise authorized.
  3. Be respectful of others lab users, lab equipment and area at all times in the computer labs.
  4. Access to the computers or computer-related equipment in the university’s computer labs is limited to current university students with paid computer lab access, and faculty/staff members with valid university ID cards. Visitors may use the labs as part of officially sanctioned college events.
  5. The computer labs are heavily used facilities. Other users may consider computers unattended for more than 15 minutes available for use.
  6. All noise levels (include: talking, music, muffled headphone noise, etc) in the lab should be kept to a minimum so that others are not disturbed. The computer labs are to be used as a study environment. The Lab Technician, NTU personnel or Security Officer are authorized to ask users to leave the lab if the users do not comply with the rules.
  7. Users are to clean up the area around the computer they used as they leave. This includes making sure all removal storage is removed from the computer and any unwanted paper is placed in the recycle bin.
  8. Lab Technician on duty will be available to advise users with computer problems and how to do computer related tasks, but are not available to assist with users’ academic work or other college-related tasks and cannot do computer work on the users' behalf.
  9. To respect the privacy of other users; for example, users shall not intentionally seek information on, obtain copies of, or modify files, tapes, or passwords belonging to other users, or misrepresent others, unless explicitly authorized to do so by those users.
  10. Occasionally, the specific lab will be reserved for the course purposes. In such situations, only the available computers Lab will be available for individual use.
  11. Users must comply with any additional restrictions relating to the use of particular computing facilities.
  12. No person shall deliberately or recklessly impair or undermine the usability or performance of computing facilities, the network and system programs, software or other stored information or data.
  13. By using any computer in the computer labs at university, you agree to abide by this policy.
